Some who have actually seen the Grateful Dead may have little interest in imitation, no matter how authentic or heartfelt. However, Dark Star Orchestra is so much more than a cover band and their attention to detail has even the most devout Deadheads hooked. Nearly every night the members of Dark Star step on stage, they recreate a concert from the unparalleled touring days of the Dead. The era DSO chooses to pay tribute to will affect every element of the show, from the number of members performing to the actual instruments used and they continue to refine their ability to channel the authentic sound of the Grateful Dead.

Whether you are still a skeptic or a longtime fan, put your money where your love is and spend the evening of February 6 with the Dark Star Orchestra as they take the stage at the Buskirk-Chumley in Bloomington. Nothing but good vibes and great times come from an experience with the Dark Star Orchestra. They are not parroting a sound, but rather paying tribute to quite possibly the most revered, counter culture creating phenomenon of all time. The love and devotion toward the Dead will last for many, many years to come, especially with bands like Dark Star Orchestra to continue their legacy in such a unique way.
