Currently CRH is making all nurses get their Bachelors degree or be fired. CRH has lost some kind of rating and the only way to get it back is by forcing the nurses to further their education. CRH is a bully. - submission

This is nothing new, years ago the VA hospitals did this. Doesn't mean the care is any better...... Just that the BSN students have more classes on management and a semester class/clinical experience in home healthcare.
The ASN RN's actually had more competition to get into their program, were usually older returning to school students and got more actual hands on training. (Better overall than the IU BSN students I observed)

Unfortunately, I had been more impressed with the nurses than the doctors at CRH......

A "bully" for requiring RNs to further their education? Really?

CRH lost MAGNET status when the hospital flooded and was shut down for months on end. It's kind of hard to maintains a national certification when a floor and a half is under water. The new guidelines for MAGNET status is that RNs have their bachelors degree. For the record not a single nurse has been fired or even been threatened to be fired if they don't have their bachelors. In fact, CRH has a tuition reimbursement program and is encouraging their staff to further their education by taking advantage of this program. Times are changing and EVENTUALLY all nurse will need to have their bachelors degree but this is years in the future and in the meantime no on is getting fired for not having it. CRH is anything but a bully. This is the hospital that chose to shelf a huge addition and remodel so that they could continue to pay their staff's salary and benefits while they were closed during the flood. This isn't something they were required to do. It's something they chose to do and something a bully certainly wouldn't do.

I've been a RN, BSN, for over 11 years. And most of those years, Associate degree RNs and Bachelor's degree RNs have been paid the EXACT SAME!!! Only recently healthcare has started to pay according to degree.

Is that fair that I get paid the same as a 2-year degree RN? I don't think so.
I'm not saying anything about who makes better nurses. I'm just saying there should be a difference in title, pay, position, etc based on the person's education.
