On June 3 2016, the annual Race to Play event was held at 9th Street Park. Thank you to the Parks and Recreation Department, the Kiwanis Organization, and the City of Columbus for doing an outstanding job in organizing this event.

The 9th Street Park Neighborhood Watch was verbally attacked by Short Wilson St resident Terry Anderson. We had our new shirts on and we were told in an over bearing loud voice we were not allowed to wear our apparel that we had made for our neighborhood watch. The 9th Street Park Neighborhood Watch set the record straight that "this is a free country and no one can tell us what or what not to wear!"

The final straw was when Randy Allman walked up to us and told us that Lincoln Central Neighborhood Family Center was responsible for all the improvements of 9th Street Park. This is a lie and we have records to prove who was responsible for what.

Former Mayor Kristen Brown along with many other people and organizations had a permanent lasting impression on this area! Randy Allman had the gull to make the statement in front of a small group of people that "a monkey could have been in office and we would've had the same results!"

Randy Allman (Director of Lincoln Central Neighborhood Family Center) is a disgrace to the Columbus community for disgracing a former sitting Mayor who worked her butt off to better our community. I am really glad that he did not say this privately but in front of a group of people which will continue to energize our effort to make sure our neighborhood gets the improvements it needs and deserves!

Randy Allman owes Kristen Brown an apology along with all the 9th Street Park Neighborhood Watch committee members who were present when this was said! Robin Hilber (active board member of Lincoln Central and should be a conflict of interest) and now Community Development Director under Jim Lienhoop was quoted as saying on Facebook this morning that Lincoln Central deserves credit for the improvements even though LCNFC had no bearing on any of the projects!

The 9th Street Park Neighborhood Watch would like to thank former Mayor Kristen Brown, former Community Development Director Carl Malysz, Columbus Parks and Recreation and the Columbus Parks Foundation Board, and the other silent organizations for making our neighborhood a better place to live and making sure that improvements are made on a yearly basis.

As Robin Hilber made the point thru her Facebook post that credit is not important, we do believe that credit should be given to those who deserve it and not to an organization such as Lincoln Central Neighborhood Family Center who had very little to do with any improvements in any of our parks.
