Leaving St. Peters was one of the best things that ever happened to me in my childhood

Chris Nolting said "I went there from 1st through 3rd grade in the late 70's - early 80's and I BEGGED my parents to let me go to public school so I could get away from that horrible place.

If you were a kid from a poor family like I was then you sustained relentless bullying from both fellow students and the faculty.

It was one thing to deal with the a$$hole kids who thought they were better than me and all of the other "poor kids" just because their parents had more money than ours, but to have to deal with the verbal and mental abuse the teachers and front office faculty put us poor kids through was beyond ridiculous.

The teachers did show clear favoritism toward the kids whose parents donated large amounts of money to the church and school and they rode the poor kids hard. They had no qualms about berating and belittling us in front of the other students and did so quite often.

I don't believe that all of the teachers did this but I know that the three that I had in my short time there did.

Whenever there was an issue between two or more kids that involved rich kids vs. poor kids the teachers and front office almost always sided with the rich kids and severely punished the poor kids. I know all of this from personal experience.

My parents did stand up for me and my siblings when the faculty showed prejudice against us and they eventually realized that their children having an education from a "Christian" private school that treated their kids so badly was not worth going through all of the crap. My parents finally let me and my siblings go to different schools.

Leaving St. Peters was one of the best things that ever happened to me in my childhood. That place was a toxic environment back then and I've heard over the years that not much has changed in that regard."
